With the sequel to Insomniac’s Spider-Man (2018) coming up, fans are wondering what the future may hold for the studio’s Marvel characters and games.
Since fans are getting more excited about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Insomniac Games announced Marvel’s Wolverine. Many fans think that more of Marvel’s most popular characters will show up in the future. With how popular Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales have been and how much fans want Insomniac Games to make their own Marvel universe like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is no question that these characters could show up.
Fans are still waiting for more information about both of Insomniac Games’ future games. But the fact that they exist is enough to suggest that the studio could link stories and plot lines together and bring in some of Marvel’s biggest names.
Daredevil
Daredevil is one of the most requested characters by fans, since Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) is based on Rocksteady’s Arkham games in terms of its fighting and gameplay system. Many people have asked for this to be Insomniac Games’ next focus, with ideas ranging from making the character the main character in a new IP to making the character a sidekick to another. With Daredevil’s wide range of skills and his ability to fight, as well as the story of how he balances being a criminal and a lawyer as Matt Murdock, it would make for an interesting title.
With the “Nelson and Murdock Attorneys at Law” building and mention in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018), Insomniac Games has an even better chance of putting the character in a cameo in a future game or making it the main character of a game. Since the above-mentioned template for hand-to-hand fighting is already in place. Daredevil is one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes who would be a good choice for this.
Captain America
Captain America is mostly about hand-to-hand fighting and quick moves, but on a much more powerful level than Daredevil. In the same way that there are many references to other heroes and the Avengers Tower is in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018). There is a chance that the character will be presented in one of Insomniac Games’ games.
Even though the character was in Square Enix’s now-cancelled Marvel’s Avengers, fans have been waiting for a new take on Captain America that includes game elements that haven’t been seen before. Based on what Rocksteady Studios was able to do with DC’s Batman in the Arkham games, where players could enjoy brutal and realistic fighting, Insomniac Games could almost certainly do the same thing with a new Captain America IP.
Doctor Strange
Even though the combat system in Insomniac’s current games is very different from what’s been done before, a Doctor Strange IP could be popular and different. Since his interactions with Spider-Man and their friendship have already been shown in the MCU in the Avengers movies and the recent hit Spider-Man: No Way Home. It wouldn’t be strange for fans to want to see them again in a game. Even though some fans think a Doctor Strange IP is impossible. The character could still be used in a rumored Insomniac Marvel universe.
Since this is the case, the best chance would be Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, especially since the 2018 movie has the Sanctum Sanctorum and there are rumors that Wolverine will be in the sequel. Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man games don’t have any visits from other heroes. But Doctor Strange could be in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which could change that.
Iron Man
Iron Man is one of the Marvel characters that could work well in the hands of Insomniac Games’ writers. He is one of the biggest and most well-known of all the Marvel characters. Both of their Spider-Man games are mostly known for how well they let you move around. No other Spider-Man game has been able to capture the feeling of web-swinging as well as they have. Taking this into account, an Iron Man game could take this to a whole new level and make it better. Giving players their first full-fledged Iron Man game.
Even though games like Geometry Dash Subzero and, more specifically, Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers did a good job of capturing Iron Man’s flight, fans didn’t like either of them. Adding Iron Man to Insomniac Games’ lineup could be a big success. If they use their traversal template and learn from the mistakes of the games listed above.
Black Widow
Even though Black Widow isn’t one of the most popular ideas for a new Marvel hero at Insomniac Games. It would be great to see her alongside Peter Parker. Given that they haven’t shared much screen time in the MCU, this could be a good way to do so. Given how they interact in books and the chance to give Natasha Romanoff’s character more depth.
The planning has already been done for Black Widow to be a playable character. Since her fighting style is based on hand-to-hand combat. And acrobatic moves that players of Marvel’s Spider-Man are already familiar with. Taskmaster, one of her main bad guys, is in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018). Which gives Insomniac Games even more reason to make her appearance.
